Boo Bash


Every Halloween, the Strand is turned into a haunted house as local children are encouraged to come to the theater to dress up and 'trick or treat.' This event features freaky flicks, pumpkins, candy, prizes and much more. This event is FREE to the general public.

 

A Strand Wonderland


Santa Claus stops off at the Strand Theater and offers to have his picture taken with local children. Staffed by his elves, Santa's Grotto features face-painting and carol-singing. There's also appearances by special guests, candy, prizes, movies and much more. This event is FREE to the general public.

 

Strand Spotlight Series


This popular series features local performing arts organizations giving a free performance on the Strand stage. The program is filled with top class entertainment from Boston's most innovative performing artists covering a wide diversity of disciplines. Past participants include Boston Children's Chorus, NEC Millennium Gospel Choir, classical music from Discovery Ensemble and Anna Myer Dancers. This series is FREE to the general public.

 

Annual Poetry Slam


Boston has proven to be a haven for excellence in creative writing. With this in mind, the Annual Poetry Slam at the Strand puts on stage Boston's established and emerging poetic talent. This event is hosted by Boston's Poet Laureate and is put together in partnership with local writers' groups. This event is FREE to the general public.

 

Strand Cinema Series


Over the course of the year, the Strand Theatre lowers the silver-screen across its main-stage for special feature presentations. Movies screened range from new independent offerings to more family friendly fare. This series is FREE to the general public.
