Boston Ballet Performance

Hosted by: Boston Ballet
On Mar 23 at 07:00 pm

Boston Ballet, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism & Special Events, and Boston Public Schools, presents two free performances featuring Boston Ballet company dancers, Boston Ballet II dancers, and Boston Ballet School students at The Strand Theatre at 543 Columbia Road in Dorchester, MA.

The performances, developed specifically for The Strand Theatre, will feature a dynamic introduction to a variety of dance forms through an interactive and diverse program. There will be excerpts from Christopher Bruce’s Rooster, Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote and a new work by Boston Ballet principal Yury Yanowsky will be performed. The program will be narrated by Boston Ballet company members and Boston Ballet II dancers speaking about their personal experiences with the art form of dance. There will also be an audience participation section hosted by soloists Joseph Gatti and Jeffrey Cirio and a performance by Boston Ballet’s Taking Steps, Boys in Motion group.

Times:

There is an 11am school-only performance and a 7pm performance that is open to the public, (tickets for the evening performance are first come first served).

* The 7pm performance is now at capacity. However, there is still a chance we may be able to accommodate walk-up requests if any tickets are unused that evening.

If your group is a SCHOOL or COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION and you would like to attend the 11am performance, please contact Victoria Westcott at vwestcott@bostonballet.org.
